When traveling overseas, inadequate sanitation and contaminated water are the leading cause of illness in travelers. To protect yourself, consider your drinking water carefully, and don’t overlook the “hidden” water you use to wash foods, brush teeth, ice, etc.

The easiest method to alleviate these worries while traveling is to use a portable filter. They are easy to use and easy to find. Search for “portable water filtration” and you will have tons of companies to choose from. The closer the company is to the top of the list the better the more popular they are with other consumers.  Make sure you get a filter that is designed to handle everything from chlorine to bacteria. Most companies label these bio (short for biological) bottles.
