San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom issued an executive order in June which bans the use of bottled water which went into effect July 1, 2007. He also put a deadline banning the use of water coolers as of December 1, 2007. This move was made in an effort to set an example for both the private sector and other citties by getting off the bottle (bottled water). The result from these bans will help reduce plastic waste leading to global warming and save taxpayer money. 

You too can make a difference by discontinuing the use of bottled water and beginning to drink tap water. The three concerns people have when asked why they wouldn’t drink tap water is because of chlorine, bad taste and bad odors.
