Filter Bottle Comparisons

If you are in the market for a water filter bottle or portable filter, then I’m sure you have come across many changes and differences in the product. When comparing products in the filter bottle market, you must make sure you check a few key elements to make sure you are receiving a quality portable water filter product.

1. Is the manufacturer a sound, secure company? It is a good idea to research the company you are purchasing your product from. Checking to make sure they have the correct business insurance and that they have the ability to produce, test, quality control, and support their product.

2. Is the product tested by independent qualified labs? Every claim the company makes MUST be backed up by qualified independent laboratories. These labs should have tested every aspect of the bottle, filter, filtration ability, etc. It is important to note that these tests should be performed by federally qualified labs in the United States. If their “test results” come from Mexico or South Africa, it is because no lab in the US would give them a qualification on their product or filter.

3. Is the product safe? It is a good idea to get information about the type of plastic and other material used in the manufacture of the product to be certain it is safe. For instance, call and check the type of plastic used in the bottle and make sure that it is an FDA-approved plastic designed for use in food products. This type of plastic is perfectly safe, but is much more expensive. Sometimes companies will use a cheaper plastic with less quality to save money.

Once you have done your research, you simply need to drink and enjoy! Now you are well on your way to filtering your own water, saving the environment, and becoming a new member of the water filter bottle movement.
