How to protect yourself from drinking contaminated water?

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

You’re probably wondering how to protect yourself from drinking contaminated water and where it may appear to be safe.

Imagine you’re hiking through the woods and you come across a lake with water so clear you could see through to the bottom. Your thinking, “No nasty microorganisms could possibly reside in a lake as beautiful as this, right?!” WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!! Tempting as it may be, surface water supply sources (lakes, rivers, and reservoirs) are untreated and there is a tremendous risk of contamination due to cysts, bacteria, and protozoa spread from animal feces and remains. (Disgusting!) So it is best to not drink water coming from these sources, but what if this is the only source you have for drinking water!? It is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and the Environmental Protection Agency to either use a certified filter (one designed to filter specifically bacteria, cysts, or protozoa) or boil the water. Biological Filters are available in Portable Water Filter products and are designed specifically for this instance. A Biological Water Filter can treat water that otherwise would not be drinkable. How does it do this? By using a hollow fiber membrane filter media that simply does not allow the very very small particles through. It’s an advanced solution to an age-old problem. No longer do we need to keep wondering if the water we drink is safe.

Filtered Water Bottle

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

According to the EPA, “as development in modern society increases, there are growing number of activities that can contaminate our drink water supply.” Having a Filtered Water Bottle available wherever you are is a perfect way to ensure that the water you drink is clean and safe. Today, even bottled water is being looked at as a less-than-popular alternative to drinking tap water. In many cases, portable water filtration is the only way to go, especially if you are in a location or traveling where you are not sure if water will be readily available. Frequently while traveling, we are told not to drink the water or make sure the water is filtered before use. Today, we have almost become immune to the thought that water may not be available. It’s simple to have a portable water filter with you all the time. Filtered water: it can save your life.

The perfect addition to your water filter collection is personal drinking water filters. These portable water filters allow you to fill up virtually anywhere and filter as you drink. To remove harmful (and foul smelling) chlorine from our water, a showerhead water filter is the best way to go. Also, chlorine tends to dry our skin and can irritate eyes, skin, and sinuses. Showerhead filters are inexpensive, easy to install, and can last for a long time, depending on the brand. You will be amazed the first time you shower with your filter how easy it is to breathe, and how great your skin and hair feel. Don’t let chlorine continue to invade your house, get shower filters for your home today.

Magnetic Water Purifier

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

Magnetic Water Purifier and Magnetic Hydration Devices have the ability to optimize the ph and increase the hydration ability of water. Simply place your 13,000 to 20,000 gauss magnets on your water bottle, can, or jug and let them do their work. After a few minutes, the magnets will literally change the structure of the water allowing it to be wetter and more absorbable by our body. It does this by changing the surface tension and increasing the ph. A magnetic water purifier, when used in connection with a water filter bottle or other portable water filters are perfect for increasing your health.

Personal Water Filter

What is a Personal Water Filter? This is a common term used for a portable water filter product. This can include any range of water filter bottles or other portable filter products. A personal water filter is designed for a single person’s use, but not necessarily for a 1-time use. Most quality personal water filters can be reused over and over. Make sure you check the filtration ability and use a personal water filtration product that suits your needs.

Is Fluoride toxic waste? If so, what is it doing to our bodies?

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

Fluoride is one of the most poisonous substances on the earth. It is a byproduct and toxic waste developed in the production of super high phosphate fertilizers. It is actually classified by almost every county in the world as toxic waste!

Drinking water with flouride causes all typed of diseases and illnesses. First, drinking fluorinated water can supress thyroid function. When your thyroid function is reduced, this leads to fatique, tiredness, depression, dizziness, and weight gain. Fluorosis is another problem seen today in our teeth.

Fluoride in the water also gets into the body through bathing and showering. Think of all the parents who bathe their children in tap water. The tap water is loaded with fluoride. The skin is the largest organ in the body. When you bathe or shower in tap water, whatever is in the water is absorbed into the body through the skin.

If you want to eliminate a disease you currently have or prevent disease and illness from occuring, it is imperative that you shower or bathe in only filtered water. I recommend purchasing a shower filter and water filter bottles as well, for the safety of your family.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding fluoride and the effects, visit www.fluoridealert.org. See for yourself all of the research available on the dangers of fluoride. Read what medical doctors, scientists and researchers from around the world are saying about fluoride. Protect yourself with portable water filter products.

“Common sense should tell us that if a poison circulating in a child’s body can damage the tooth-forming cells, then other harm also is likely.”
- Colquhoun J. (1997). Why I changed my mind about Fluoridation. Perspectives in Biology and Medicine 41:29-44.

Brita Bottles

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

Brita Bottles are no longer in production. For a limited time, Brita produced the Brita Fill & Go bottle, which was a simply bottle with a filtration device enclosed. Even with the background Brita has in water filtration, they could not correctly engineer a bottle that worked and was acceptable. The good news is, the Brita Bottles are not the only bottles on the market. There are other companeis that make filter bottles similar today. Check for a distributor near you.

How do Cryptosporidium and Giardia get in the water supply?

Friday, February 23rd, 2007

In some cases, municipal water is safe to drink. In a lot of cases, it is not. How is our tap water filtered? Most municipal tap water systems work the same way:

1) The water passes through a series of sand filters to remove particles.
2)Chlorine is added to kill bacteria.

The tap water filtration process is supposed to remove at least 99.9% of the cysts that may be present, but even the EPA reports the great majority of the tap water systems don’t actually test their water.

Not even your local municipal water company can filter 100% of these contaminants all the time. However, you can protect yourself by filtering all water from the tap. A house filter system, counter filter, shower filter, and a combination of portable water filters and water filter bottles can keep you safe from all the problems our water supply is facing every day.
